We’ve install hundreds of kitchens over the year. Kitchens from B&Q, Wren Kitchens, Howdens and even Wickes. In this example of our work, the kitchen was measured, designed and supplied by MKM Building Supplies in Ripon, North Yorkshire. All fully installed by Claxton and Palmer of Harrogate.
As with many installations it is imperative to ensure that all walls are “true” and square prior to installing the kitchen base units. This room was no exception, the rear wall had to be re-leveled using a method of “dot and dabbed”. Dot and dab is basically a method of sticking new sheets of plasterboard to the existing wall.
The existing old kitchen was removed and to reduce our wastage the old cupboards, sink and granite worktops were recycled through Freecycle The existing tiled floor was being retained and steam cleaned, so luckily that saved us some time in man hours and save the customer a few hundred pounds in extra labour.
Once we had clean work area the base units were installed and levelled with a laser level, the new hot and cold water feeds installed and new solvent waste checked and tested. Kitchen cupboards installed at 450mm above the unit tops. New granite worktop were installed. Yet another nice kitchen completed!
